About
Acara was established in 1992 as a collaboration with Randy Darnell and Cathy (Johnson) Darnell, each bringing their own set of skills and prior breed history. Together combining more than eighty years of years of experience in the Breed. While largely a hobby kennel, Acara has produced nationally competitive German Shepherds winning multiple Select Champions, Group, ROM, BISS, BIS Awards. While only breeding a handful of litters, our goal was focused on qualitative results, not quantitative.

We have a dedicated breeding program in place to produce healthy, confident, and well-tempered German Shepherds. Our breeding dogs are carefully selected based on their genetic traits, temperament, and conformation to breed the next generation of exceptional German Shepherds.
